Counseling Services
Simple, Easy, Confidential.
Members of the State Employee Benefit plan are provided up to four counseling services at a participating or in-network provider for no charge.
To take advantage of this benefit, simply contact your plan administrator (BCBS, New West - either on the administrator’s web site, or via telephone) to find a participating/in-network provider. Choose a provider from this list and then call the provider’s office and make an appointment. That is all you need to do.
Claims will be processed through your health plan (with the first four visits at no charge). Regular benefits (as listed on pages 12-13 of your annual change booklet) will apply after your fourth visit.
Provider Information
Employees and dependents covered under the State of Montana Health Plan no longer need a referral from Reliant Behavioral Health (RBH) to access their EAP mental health benefit. Four visits with no copay, coinsurance, or deductible per calendar year will be allowed under the member’s health benefits as long as the provider is participating or in-network with the member’s health plan. Providers may submit claims to the member’s claim administrator directly without a voucher from RBH. Employees currently have the option of coverage through either the Blue Choice Managed Care or Traditional Plan administered by Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana or the Managed Care Plan administered through New West Health Plan. Benefits are only available if you are either a participating provider (Traditional Plan), or a in network provider (Blue Choice and Managed Care) with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana or New West Health Plan. Claims will need to be submitted directly to the Plan under which the member is covered. For any questions related to your participation status, contact the patient’s claim administrator.
Health Coaching
Have you been thinking about losing weight or quitting smoking for good? Do you have questions about your health screening results? Are you looking for ways to cut the stress in your life? A health coach can provide the support you need to achieve your goals. All State plan members and dependents 18 or over have access to confidential health coaching at no charge. This benefit offers members the opportunity to communicate with friendly, experienced health coaches at their own pace, by phone or email depending on the participant’s preference.
To get started, contact Health Care and Benefits Division at benefitsquestions@mt.gov or (800) 287-8266.
